There’s been lots of talk of Hey Arnold! lately; namely because there’s a TV movie of the classic animated series in the works. But what’s way more interesting (not to mention important) than that is that the child who voiced our favorite cartoon star with a football-shaped head is now a fully grown, attractive hipster man.
Meet Lane Toran.
It appears as though in the years since Hey Arnold!, Toran (who used to go as Lane Toran Caudell) has grown a monstrous beard and long hair that can either be sported in a man bun or under one of the many hats he now owns. He’s also gotten a bunch of tattoos and an impressive collection of cozy looking sweaters (all the better to cuddle you, my dear). Toran took to Instagram (perhaps to show his new crop of adult fans he now has a husky, very adult-sounding voice) to clarify that he only voiced Arnold for one season, at which point his voice changed. Since then, he’s contributed voices to such kid classics as Recess and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and even appeared in a few episodes of 7th Heaven.
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I really appreciate all the love. & thank you to @buzzfeed for the article. I know I don’t talk about ‘Hey Arnold’ on here so some of you that have been following me for a while might not know, but I did voice ‘Arnold’ for all of season 1 (until my voice changed). It’s crazy to be a part of something that’s still talked about and watched 20 years later. And 100k?? Again, thank you A video posted by Lane Toran (@lane_toran) on
These days he’s an actor/model/musician. So basically he doesn’t do much, but really, look this damn cool is a full-time job in itself.
