Ever since the plans for long delayed, and long pined-for Ghostbusters sequel fell apart after the untimely death of Harold Ramis, the status of the film has been in limbo. Rumors have been floating around for a while now that the project, now being helmed by director Paul Feig, would switch lanes and focus on an all-female, new generation of Ghostbusters, something a report today and a tweet from Feig supports.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa McCarthy has signed on to star in the film, and deals are in the works for Kristen Wiig to join on, along with fellow Saturday Night Live comedians Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
