The cultural flex commanded by Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift is pretty much impossible to underestimate at this point; together they can swing so much capital they’re like the General Motors of pop culture. So it makes sense that Fashion’s Night Out tapped the two to appear in this promo clip for the Sept. 6 event. Bieber wears an FNO belt buckle that was probably melted down for scrap after this ad, and Tay Tay wears some shiny-ass shorts while they dangle in front of you the promise of chilling with models and designers. Both artists appeal to a really specific set of people (tweens and the occasional music writer), and neither are really associated with the kind of person that is necessarily like, dying to get their hands on the latest Raf Simons sneaker. Maybe some of these teenagers will show up with their parents and convince them to get some handbags as an early graduation present?
