Halloween in New York doesn’t feel like Halloween anywhere else. America’s most crowded city takes the night seriously, which means the streets and subways overflow with a sensory overload of freaks, pop culture references, and hordes of monsters of all ages, everyone off to parties, events, and the night’s centerpiece, the Village Halloween Parade. Photographer Izzy Cohan did his best to cover as much ground as possible this past Friday, bouncing from location to location to show us what Halloween in the city not only looks like, but what it feels like. Locales include the streets of Park Slope, MoMA PS1, the Lower East Side, and various parties of the house, after, and warehouse variety.
