Paris, you’re beautiful. First, let’s talk about how grounded yesterday, day two of Paris Fashion Week, was. From our petit cafe with Christophe Lemaire to the evening with Formichetti at Mugler, ease was everywhere. Rugged soled brogues were favored at Rochas, Dries Van Noten, and Damir Doma. Nowhere, not even chez Thierry “Bodycon” Mugler, were the clothes glued to the models. Instead, the body was fluid under fabric—belted at the waist, maybe, and often tucked in, but free under ample material #thanks. What Marco Zanini is doing at Rochas will make even the tomboys squeal pretty. Dries Van Noten swept us away with marabou and skirts over pants. Christophe Lemaire and Felipe Oliveira Baptista continued their pursuit of uniform perfection. And Gareth Pugh stayed true to his raven spirit.
