The whole point of minimal clothes is that you can’t say much about them. You can appreciate the palette, or deconstruct the construction, but the language is all formal. Identity signifiers are irrelevant (the clothes speak for themselves, or, better still, the people wearing the clothes speak for themselves). Yesterday, day four of Milan Fashion Week, was a minimalist splendor, led, of course, by Jil Sander, back at her namesake brand for the second season in a long while. Let it speak.
