Myspace Takes Us On a Tour of New Myspace

1. Profiles: The new design makes you look fabulous, darling.

The gorgeous magazine-style layout is slick and easy to navigate.
2. Photos: It’s a blank canvas.

Remember those grainy camera-phone photos from the old site? You won’t find them here. In their place are huge, pixel-perfect quality images that help showcase who you are.
3. Mixes: Make a mix-tape, but get creative by adding photos, songs, and videos.

Remember the physical experience of holding an album, way back before the Internet atomized albums into .mp3 files? Okay, so you don’t. But you don’t have to because we’re bringing that back, only better. With multimedia mixes, artists can tell a story through a succession of photos, throw in a music video, or get even more creative by featuring backstage shots, tour fliers, and magazine profiles from places like…say…BULLETT.
4. Events: Find out where your favorite band is playing.

Not only can artists find out where their top fans are so they can figure out touring plans, but they can also make sure their fans are the first to know about upcoming shows. Artist pages come complete with an events tab that lets people check out show schedules and buy tickets without even having to press pause on your playlist. It’s all in one spot on Myspace.
5. Music Videos: Be Seen!

You know Myspace’s catalog has more songs than anyone else. Did you know they also have videos? They do! Huge-screen HD videos let you see and feel the music. Listen or watch—or both. You decide.
6. Discover: Discover new music—or let others do the discovering for you.

There’s an entire team of music aficionados at Myspace who do nothing but search for the next must-know thing and give recommendations so you’re in the know, too. There’s recommendation-based radio, tailored custom playlists, and features on what’s trending.
7. Original content: Bored with the internet?

When you’re sick of the same ol’, same ol’, check out the latest on the Discover section of Myspace. It highlights all kinds of new people, music, artists, and things that you’ll actually be interested in.

In case you’ve been living under a rock made of white smoke, there’s a new Myspace out. It’s kind of like the old Myspace, except way cooler looking and with a ton of new features—so not really like it at all. Except that the main concept is the same: it’s all about the muzak. The new Myspace will still primarily be about sharing tunes, celebrating established talents, and discovering new ones. But unlike the old Myspace, which was a bit on the drab side, the new Myspace—which we’ve seen in action—defines slick. And why wouldn’t it? Justin Timberlake—who as of late has taken the word ‘slick’ and applied it to his hair—is one of the revamped Myspace’s main backers. Which is why you should probably expect him to play at a secret show or two at SXSW. We’re not making any predictions, but it’s stroke of marketing luck that Mr. Timberlake has a new album to promote the same time his massive investment is showing face down in Austin. Myspace has already announced a show tomorrow, with Diplo, HitBoy, and Kid Cudi headlining. Anyway, without further ado, here’s a guided tour of the new Myspace, given to us by the great folks at the new Myspace. New Myspace.
