Last Night’s ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reunion was Predictably Satisfying

As we noted just the other day (in discussing Britney Spears’ navel piercing), blasts from the past are totally hot right now. Makes sense from a marketing standpoint; as we all learned in that Mad Men episode in which Don Draper does his pitch for the slide projector carousel, nostalgia is a “delicate but potent” tool. What better way to get clicks and shares than by bringing back something Millennials were into at a time when they were less jaded and apathetic (i.e. pre Internet)?

The latest in this never-ending stroll down memory lane came courtesy of Jimmy Fallon, who staged a Saved by the Bell reunion on his show last night. The gang was all there, clad in their Bayside attire (Though Kelly Kapowski’s cheerleading uniform had to be let out a little bit to accommodate her growing baby bump).

Kelly, Zack, A.C. and Jessie all look like they’ve barely aged a day. Notably missing were Screech (Dustin Diamond) and Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) – it appears as though Mr. Belding may have eaten them.
