You hated her, you feared her, but secretly you wanted to be her. The meanest girl in school might have had some serious flaws lurking below the surface, but, at sixteen, none of that mattered to you. After all, is it really that big of a deal to tell your friend she can’t wear the white gold hoops her parents got her for Hanukkah (Regina George), or to manipulate the new girl in school into getting a reputation as a slut (one Kathryn Merteuil in Cruel Intentions), or even to kill your best friend via jawbreaker (that one goes out to Courtney Alice Shayne in Jawbreaker, and it was by accident, so) if it means you get to wear the prom queen crown? Nowadays, we’re quite content with not caring about what our social status is (or where we can sit at lunch), but that doesn’t mean we can’t steal some inspiration from those girls whose names still send shivers up our spine.
