We all have those people that we’re obligated to follow on Instagram (relatives, coworkers, friend’s shitty spouses) that are the actual worst. I’m talking about the sort of person that posts not one but ten pictures of their day at the beach/visit to a museum/nephew’s bar mitzvah, clogging up your damn feed. But alas, everyone’s favorite app offers some salvation. Today Instagram introduced galleries, which allows users to include multiple images in a swipeable gallery. Galleries can include up to 10 photos, which can be edited either individually or as a batch.

This is game changer, people. Not only will galleries allow you to wiz by feed-cloggers in a single swipe, it will surely lead to some very creative, very hilarious meme-making. For example, consider how much funnier a “you vs. the guy he told you not to worry about” meme be if you had to swipe to reveal the punchline? And gone are the days of cramming multiple movie quotes into one hideous split-screen.
And once again, Instagram renders all other forms of social media a little less relevant.
