Do you love the dearly departed King of Rock? Do you have a giant wad of disposable cash? Are you not locked into your family burial plot? Well, here’s some fantastic news: Elvis Presley’s original Memphis crypt will be auctioned off next month, with bidding starting at the cool figure of $100,000. As the story goes, Presley was initially interred in the ornate mausoleum following his 1977 death, along with his late mother. A few months later, they were moved to their final resting places at Graceland, his legendary estate, after Presley’s father secured permission to bury them on private grounds. The mausoleum has remained empty ever since, but by winning the auction, you’ll be granted the right to open it up for your eventual death, as well as the use of a chapel for a commitment service. After blasting your ashes into space, it’s definitely the swaggiest way to go into that gentle night. The auction begins in the middle of June.
