The reasons to avoid going to a movie theater are many, from prices, to inconvenience compared to home viewing, to dealing with crowds, to the fact that Hollywood thinks that you’re a drooling moron. One of the primary reasons I don’t go myself has to do with the noise and the distractions from the other movie-goers, and the potential to get into arguments about how one is supposed to behave in public. The extreme end of that type of scenario was on display in Florida today, when two people were shot at a Wesley Chapel theater showing of Lone Survivor, a movie about brave men shooting other people.
Sheriff Chris Nocco says the male victim was on his phone and texting before the movie began, which allegedly aggravated the couple behind him. An argument between the couples broke out, and the male suspect took out a gun and shot the man and woman sitting in front of him.
Both victims were transported to a Bay area hospital, where the man was pronounced dead. The woman reportedly has non-life threatening injuries. 1o News Tampa
An interesting point to consider:
If this happened at black movie, culture warriors would blame gangsta rap: http://t.co/EHHc4vMGhY But b/c it’s Lone Survivor? Radio silence.
