XAXO Bring the Miami 80s-Inspired Indie Dance Funk On ‘Park That Thang’

“The lyric that sums up ‘Park That Thang’ is ‘I promise I won’t cry when this is over,” says XAXO of their latest. “It’s obviously sarcastically saying, ‘Let’s just have a good fucking time!'”

That’s pretty easy to do listening to “Park That Thang” from the Miami-based indie-dance duo of brothers Dav Julca and Johnny Echo, with its ’80s dance funk and MJ-evoking vocals. After having worked with the likes of Ricky Martin, Pitbull, Jason Derulo and others, the brothers recently set out on their own, and their debut EP, Looking For Nothing, will be out soon on Space52, a Mishu Music imprint.

“It’s a song made for grooving, dancing and singing,” they say. “You can expect the Looking For Nothing EP to make you feel some shit. The real ups and downs of our journey.”
