A Woman Saved Her Own Life By Traveling the World With a Cutout of Her Late Father

+

Father’s Day has passed, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to glorify just how awesome and important dads are. New York-based fashion photographer Jinna Yang lost her father to cancer two years ago, and has been chronicling the aftermath of that huge loss on her blog, as both a coping mechanism and as a way to honor him. But Yang took that one step further when she decided to bring a cardboard cutout of her father—who’d never traveled the world—to some of our planet’s most impressive locales. Yang is posting the pictures to her Instagram account, but you can see some of them above. In a blog post titled, “I Left Everything to Travel the World For and With My Father“, she describes a life coming undone in the wake of her father’s death, and how buying a one way ticket to Iceland and going from there saved her. We’ll be speaking to her about this journey soon, so stay tuned.
