When we first heard Wild Belle’s “Keep You” back in 2012, we were immediately smitten with Chicago band’s sexy cool. The brother and sister group of Elliot and Natalie Bergman have exploded since then, and have been touring on the back of their most recent record Dreamland, which includes songs like the defiantly jubilant “Throw Down Your Guns.”
We asked Wild Belle to put together a photo diary of their tour to get a glimpse behind the scenes of what life on the road is like for them.
Fenders need other Fenders close by, at all possible times.
This is my knife chest. Here I keep x-actos, glue sticks, and VERY important scraps. Prince has really been on my mind lately. He is a reminder that there are no rules in art.
The first bench in the van is my collage station where I invent strange and unusual scenarios and universes.
Kellen Harrison is the nastiest bassist in town. Luckily he’s in my band.
I met Daniel at the California Clipper. I saw him from across the room and loved his vibe so much I asked him to get on the stage and audition to be in my band. He never played congas before. I hired him that night.
The day we visited Columbia in NYC to celebrate the release of Dreamland.
Me and my MONSTER VAN.
Elliot warms up at The Black Cat in DC.
New Orleans got naughty.
I couldn’t do this tour without Kiara. She is my number one baddest bitch. Uplifting dancing queen lover woman sunshine.
Tell me that I’m yours forever.
We visited Marfa and I found this dope coloring book.
The tent I slept in for the night I saw MARS and JUPITER.
Elliot my numero uno. Champion, artist, leader, rock star, brother, blood, freak show, homie, encyclopedia, genius, MELODY MAKER, king of jazz and laughter and love.
All I saw for 14 hours straight in a van with 7 people.
Another glam shot of the congoman himself.
Polaroid by Elliot in South Carolina.
We chased batman down the highway for miles.
