If you have love for goofy slapstick action comedies, then you definitely remember the first two Rush Hour movies fondly. Maybe not so much with the third (which among other things featured Roman Polanski as a French cop), but those first two probably made you long for a friend from a distant country with which to get into dangerous yet lighthearted predicaments. Well, because folks in Hollywood just don’t know how to let a good franchise lie, there’s talk of Rush Hour 4 with both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the works. Series producer Arthur Sarkissian told CraveOnline “I’m trying to do it closer to how I did Rush Hour 1, more down to earth, more gritty, introduce two new characters and make it real the way the first one was.”
Uhhh, so who remembers the first Rush Hour being “down to earth,” “gritty,” or “real”? That alone doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence, but a fourth Rush Hour as fun as the first two movies would probably be a real treat. Really, this kind of movie writes itself; right now I’m guessing it’s a scenario where Inspector Lee and Detective Carter end up in Switzerland to foil a plot to destroy the Large Hadron Collider in a cataclysmic nuclear explosion, with a scene where Jackie Chan hilariously fends off multiple bad guys inside of a particle accelerator. Sounds about right, doesn’t it?
