Whitney Houston’s Hologram is Going on Tour

+

There is nothing sarcastic, metaphoric or otherwise misleading about the above headline; the hologram of the late, great Whitney Houston will be going on tour in 2016.

So what can we expect from hologram Whitney? The tour is being organized by Hologram USA with the help of Pat Houston, the singer’s sister, who also serves as president of her estate. According to a detailed statement, the show will be interactive and feature the singer’s greatest hits alongside as-yet-unannounced special guests. Interactive? Alright. Also, it’s going to be broadcasted across a range of digital and cable platforms, so if you don’t have the disposable cash for what’s sure to be one of next year’s pricier concerts (or if hologram Whitney isn’t hitting your town), you can still see her in all her technologically advanced glory.

“I was heartbroken when Whitney passed away in 2012,” said Alki David, the Greek billionaire CEO of Hologram USA. “The opportunity to share her spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business. I’m confident we’ll create the ultimate celebration of Whitney’s amazing artistry.” Yes, I’m sure this was the only thing David had in mind when he built the hologram business. Profiting off deceased celebrities without their consent was in no way a factor.

Pat Houston weighed in as well: “It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come.”

We’re about to open pandora’s box, people. Be afraid, be very afraid.
