We all accumulate a ridiculous amount of baggage as we go through our lives, often times burdened by the weight. That’s a concept that’s brought to life in the video for “Make It Easy” the gorgeous, slide-guitar tinged Americana track from New York by way of Detroit artist Victoria Reed. There’s a liberating feeling that comes once you let it go.
“I wrote ‘Make It Easy’ when I realized that if I could give advice to my past-self at any moment, it would be to relax, because present-day me knows how beautifully things that I’ve once fretted over have eventually turned out,” she says. “So I decided to write a song from the perspective of my future-self, imagining that the same wisdom might ultimately apply to my present-day worries. The video is a play on the feeling of carrying the ridiculous weight of all that unnecessary fear and then finally finding freedom from it all in a moment of clarity.
Reed’s LP Chariot is out on February 26. Find more here
