Children are so inherently honest that most of the time they make for the best focus groups. In Niños vs. Moda (Children vs. Fashion), Madrid-based artist Yolanda Domínguez asks a group of 8-year-olds to provide their commentary on recent fashion ads, and the result is amazingly brutal.
Unintentionally throwing some serious shade, the kids call out models for their awkward positions, facial expressions and ghastly appearances. The video opens with one of our favorite comments on a Loewe ad, with one of the kids remarking, “It’s like she is poor.”
When Miley Cyrus’ famous Marc Jacobs ad graces the screen the kids say, “It looks like she is crying. Maybe she is about to die or she fainted.” The kids are endearingly puzzled when models appear to be fighting and appear legitimately worried about why Cara Delevingne is smiling when being thrown in a trash can.
Hands down though, the best commentary diss was one made about Miu Miu’s Spring 2015 ad, featuring Mia Goth. “She was in the changing room and the floor was wet from mopping, but nobody put a warning sign, and she slipped over.” Watch, below.
