Cosplay is sort of weird, in that the number of attractive women who are willing to dress up like characters from video games and anime far exceeds what you would guess it is if you’re not already familiar with how popular Cosplay is in the first place. So far the upper limit in the prestige of women willing to do cosplay has rested squarely at Olivia Munn (there is no shortage of results for the Google search “Olivia Munn Cosplay,” check the girl out as Sailor Moon) but it was raised a few pegs when Nintendo released this ad for their new 3DS handheld. In the spot, Penelope Cruz loses a bet to her Agent Provocateur model sister Monica Cruz, because you know, they are probably making bets over video games all the time at the luxurious house they share in this ad/your dreams, and when Cruz loses she has to dress up like Super Mario. That’s it. See how easy it was for Nintendo to seriously confuse the way you feel about chubby, mustachioed Italian men?
