At some point in its implosion timeline, the music industry decided to make “lyric videos” a thing. You know the ones. Those Youtube clips that get released on the internet after the single but before the actual music video. The artist does not appear, just some After Effects sorcery and the words to the song. They’re fun for like a second. But M.I.A.–or the people she pays to make stuff for her–went out of her way to inject the lyric video to her latest, “Come Walk With Me,” with some pretty weird imagery, including Hindu gods, Parisian nightscapes, and a whole bunch of other stuff you see when you dose PCP.
