After a lot of will-he-or-won’t-he drama surrounding the leak of his latest script, it’s finally a done deal that the 8th film from Quentin Tarantino will indeed be The Hateful Eight. You’ll recall that Tarantino tried suing Gawker for posting a link to the script after it leaked online, and vowed never to make the film. But after a nearly 4 hour live reading (with intermission) in L.A. that featured many Tarantino regulars, it became clear that Tarantino intended to make this story of 8 strangers trapped in a cabin during a blizzard his next movie. No official cast has been announced, and just yesterday rumors that Jennifer Lawrence was close to signing on swirled around the web, but the movie’s IMDb page has a stacked roster of actors attached, including Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, and Amber Tamblyn—essentially the same actors who took part in the live-read. Now, a teaser for the movie has leaked, and since no footage has been shot, it’s just a slick graphic introduction to the film’s style and eight characters. The whole thing looks, well, like a Tarantino movie.
