Watch Icona Pop Conquer ‘Jimmy Fallon’ With World-Conquering Single

Good for Icona Pop, who’ve turned one of 2012’s more enduring singles into one of 2013’s more enduring singles, riding “I Love It” into brand recognition success via pop-ups in Girls and national commercials. Last night, they hit the set of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to do what must be the 12,000th rendition of the song, but you wouldn’t know—it was just a joyous and emphatic a performance as ever, complete with strobing lights, gently modified synthesizers, and enough jumping to form any personal self-confidence mantra. I’m thinking about Psy, whose “Gangnam Style” reached ubiquitous levels of single saturation, and wondering if Icona Pop couldn’t eventually fall into the same rut if “I Love It” is all they’re known for to the world. But boy, what a single, and hopefully there’s more coming.
