If you have to watch just one cyber-punk body-mod sci-fi music video today, and there will of course be many, let this new one for the song “Redness Moon” by the Puerto Rico pscyh-rock outfit Fantasmes be the one. It’s just four and a half minutes long and it already has a more engaging plot and interesting art direction than most of the summer’s sci-fi blockbusters. Let’s see, it has something to do with the planets, and there’s, like, a spooky dystopia setting straight out of Bladerunner, and everyone has crazy gas masks on, then the red moon comes dangerously close to the earth and the dude gets an epic lunar cock block just before he gets to make out with the sexy cyborg. To be honest that’s all I really noticed because I couldn’t stop rewinding back to the part where the robot babe shows of her leg tattoos. The song itself is as creeping and hypnotic as the visuals. The album Redness Moon comes out in September on Last Bummer Records.
