So much subtext in this Japanese-inspired talk show The Gorburger Show, in which a bloodthirsty monster from out of space interviews indie bands like Tegan & Sara and The Mars Volta, (who I am frankly stunned agreed to anything remotely as fun as this). Is it a commentary on the state of pointless music and entertainment journalism? Is it a metaphor for the way we devour bands whole then spit them out like chunks of bone and grizzle once we’re done with them? Is it a jab at the way the traditionally male dominated industry sexualizes female rock bands, like Dum Dum Girls, in this case? Is it bad that these are basically the same questions I would ask the trio if I were in the same room with them? Not sure I’d have as much luck as Gorburger though, that dude is a charmer. (via)
