So this is pretty spot on. Vimeo, that self-described “respectful community of creative people who are passionate about sharing the videos they make”  is holding their annual festival (who knew they had a festival?) in New York City this summer (June 7-9), and they’ve rounded up a solid lineup of judges for the competition portion of the event. Aziz Ansari, Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, James Franco, filmmaker Edgar Wright, designer Nicola Formichetti, and many more are slated to determine the best and viral-iest in thirteen categories, including Fashion, Experimental, Animation, Documentary, and Narrative. Winners in each category are awarded $5000, and the winner for Best Video gets a whole $25,000 to make more videos with. The inaugural awards were held in 2010, and past judges include David Lynch, M.I.A, and Morgan Spurlock, and past winners include this guy. It’s worth a watch, actually.
