NY-based label One DNA is a passionate purveyor of the concept, “clothing for all,” actively working to dismantle the same-sex trend in fashion until it becomes the norm, not novelty. “My whole argument is any age, any race, any gender,” said designer and creative director Travis Weaver. “I want to design something that’s for more than one social group.”
For SS’ 16, Weaver pulled inspiration from his recent travels to the California coast, which manifested into a lineup of looks rooted in classic American sportswear. The collection’s color palette, he said, stemmed from the iridescent Mother of Pearl: creams, taupes and loud splashes of sky blue and magenta—two subtle hues naturally embedded in the Pearl.
