Underground Icon Uffie Teases New Music

Years before Kesha hijacked her sound on “Tik Tok,” we had Uffie: the Myspace it girl that spawned iconic tracks like, “Pop The Glock,” and, “Ready to Uff,” both created alongside her Ed Banger Records go-to Feadz.

After having a baby girl and divorcing her husband André Saraiva in 2009, the underground OG took a brief hiatus from work before finally releasing a proper full-length LP in 2010, called Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. Loaded with all the singles that first made Uffie famous, she also rolled out some fresh new tracks, like her Pharrell Williams-assisted cut, “ADD SUV,” and a more melodic offering, “Difficult.”

Six years later, Uffie has broken her silence, teasing two comeback tracks on Facebook, one called, “Tied Up,” and the other, “Sassy.” Where “Tied Up” sounds like a more of a slow, earnest groove—think “First Love” vibes—”Sassy” channels the upbeat Uffie we all fell in love back in 2006. “Psychos put your hands up, time to take your stand, yup,” she asserts, above production that’d have a happy home on Grimes’ pixie-pop standout, Art Angels. Listen, below:

Update: The rare chanteuse that is Uffie responded to BULLETT on Twitter, sharing the following: “[I] have a brilliant team. More news to come!” Stay tuned.
