When they emerged back in 2013, UK five piece Nothing But Thieves landed on more than a few best new artists lists, from iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, MTV and XFM. The band has been busy selling out shows across Europe in the meantime, and has toured with the likes of Muse, some of whose guitar bombast and vocal prowess echoes throughout their music on songs like “Itch” and the raw, dirty blues rock of “Ban All the Music.
With their self-titled debut LP set for release on February 5 on RCA Records, and their “Trip Switch” video moving well passed 1 million plays on Vevo, we asked the band, Conor Mason (vocals), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitar), Dom Craik (guitar and keyboard), Philip Blake (bass), and James Price (drums) to put together a tour photo diary for us. Check it out below.
“Ange and Jonboy came to Warsaw! (Price’s parents). Loveliest couple ever, and very proud of ‘their little dickhead’! (A direct quote from Price’s dad.)”
“Dom and our merch guy Nagy constantly producing music on the road”
“Playing in Poland is always a big night for us, the crowds are incredibly loud and always get so into it. This was during ‘If I Get High.’”
“Phil hacking his way through Prices caveman beard, he came out looking laaaavly.”
“Our sound guy got into a fight in Italy, a group of lads thought he was talking to one of their girlfriends (probably was) and they chased him. Not good!”
“This photo was timed so well that we managed to turn Price into a blue, smokey demon. Rather than the gremlin he is.”
“Our first show of the U.K. run, this is soundcheck in the Manchester Academy 3 room.”
“A little pit stop in Italy, it doesn’t get much more beautiful. The views alright too.”
“We found Price’s doppelgänger.”
