U.S. Girls is Meghan Remy, and her music has been banging around the blogosphere for some time now (her upcoming release this fall, Gem, is actually going to be her third); however, if Remy’s track “Jack” is any indication, this might be the album where she takes off. Emily Pelstring directs a gauzy video that finds Remy rolling around in glitter, performing, and having an all-around hard time figuring out what to wear as she dreamily sings “You dress the way you dooo” in a a soda shop tone that sounds ripped from 50 years ago. The end of the video makes it seem like she ends up going for the sparkly cocktail dress/glitter, which is probably a better decision than that blazer that shows all the underboob. Underboob is chill but that much of it can be dangerous. Judging from the song’s title, the refrain, and Remy’s own sartorial ambivalence, the song may be about pining after some guy who reads Selectism a lot.
