I’ve never watched America’s Got Talent. In previous seasons, all information I received about our country’s most public high school talent show came secondhand from my mother. “Oh my god, you have to see this guy with the dogs. You should see what these dogs can do,” she’d say. Or, “There’s this magician, and I don’t want to say that magic is real, but maybe it is because how else could he know what Scary Spice had written on her card?!” Or whatever.
Anyway, that’s all about to change because Tyra Banks is bringing her superior judging skills to AGT and wherever Tyra goes, I follow. This season of America’s Next Top Model, albeit better than expected, was seriously lacking in the melodramatic host/judge department (sorry Rita Ora, you just didn’t cut it for me). I need my Tyra fix. I need Tyra screaming the words “I believed in you” at some couple that spins plates. Actually, America needs this. She even referenced smizing in her statement:
“Since I was a little girl, I’ve been obsessed with grandiose acts and performers who make the seemingly impossible possible. I love how AGT brings that feeling into everyone’s home, capturing the best of people who come out and give it their all to make those big, fierce and outrageous dreams come true. I look forward to connecting with the dreamers, having fun and giving hugs and words of encouragement when needed. And maybe I’ll get one or two performers to smize for the audience!”
But will she teach them the booty tooch? Only time will tell.
