Master Colorist Renee Taglia on Pastel Tones to Deep Chocolates
As the hum of wind becomes stronger and the temperature begins to fall, it’s explicitly clear – fall is on the way and the leaves aren’t the only things that are changing color around here. While the Summer of 2015 saw some awesome hair color trends, it may be no match for the gorgeous shades that are upon us this coming season. It’s time to revitalize that sun-soaked summer hair and try something new. From rusty coppers to playful moody pastels, Master Colorist and hair genius Renee Taglia has shared with us her picks for next season’s freshest shades:
Pastel and Fashion Tones
Whether you’re feeling playful, edgy or anything in between, there is a shade of pastel to tickle your fancy. From celebrities to fashion bloggers, pastel is one of the looks all the “cool kids” are doing. Soft shades of Pink, Blue, Green and Violet have taken up permanent residence on our Instagram feeds. Summer’s pastel trend was a soft, whisper of color that still made a statement, but we’re ready to step it up for fall. Treat your hair all one color or paint a rainbow everyone will love! Your favorite pastel shades are now bolder and deeper than ever before. It’s going to be a colorful season
Blondes may have more fun, but Ronze is having the most fun of all! The Rusted Copper trend incorporates Ronze and Rose Gold and is one of my favorites, not only of this season, but the entirety of 2015. Red infused with varying copper tones can take your color to a powerful, sexy new level. Ronze looks amazing with many skin tones and hair colors and is especially great for people with naturally darker hair. Similar to Pastels, there is a wide range of Rusted Copper shades to compliment a myriad clients. Play with levels of depth and softness to find the right shade for your personality.
Many of you have been adding butter to your coffee this year, so why not also to your hair color! Create a luxurious look by adding rich and warm tones to the base color. Blonde can illuminate the skin and enhance your eyes. The key to finding the right shade of blonde is about balance and to build dimension from the roots. Buttery Blondes are all the rage on the fall runways, currently top models Behati Prinsloo and Gigi Hadid are rocking the warm shades. Try hand-painted Honey highlights to achieve the effect. Tortoise Shell is a wonderful variation of this trend that works especially well for darker haired clients. Try some honey with a hint of mahogany and you’ll be GOLDEN!
Hair Color so delicious no one will be able to resist. A range of Chocolates couldn’t be more appropriate for the colder months. Snuggle up with some Milky Browns and Delectable Darks or try a subtle Ombre with a Dark Chocolate Base and Caramel highlights to brighten up your face (as seen on model). Classic and rich, Chocolate works on virtually any skin tone. Cherry Chocolate is Renee’s personal favorite. Yum!
