Forbes has compiled a list of the top-earning stand up comedians of the year, and the results are about the only thing less funny I can think of than most of the people on the list. Coming in at #1, to no one’s surprise, is Jerry Seinfeld, who pulled in a quick and easy $32 million this year, mostly from work he did twenty years ago. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Second on the list is Terry Fator, at $22 million. Fator, they report, has a contract with Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel said to be for $100 million for making a puppet talk funny. $100 million for making a puppet talk funny.
$100 million for making a puppet talk funny.
#3 is a guy I’ve never heard of, while #4 is Jeff Dunham, who made $19 million for making a puppet talk funny. #4 is Louis C.K., who made a barely even worth mentioning $16 million, followed by Kevin Hart, at $14 million. Rounding out the list are Larry the Cable Guy, George Lopez, Daniel Tosh, the guy in the Hawaiian shirt, and the guy with the cigar. Noticeably absent from the list? ANYONE WITH NICE ABS.
So, let this be a lesson to us all: keep slinging out that comedy gold on Twitter, because we’re all going to be rich one day, just you wait and see. Related: The 10 Least Funny Stand Up Comedians on Twitter.
