The word “cute” is rarely synonymous with “football” (unless you’re describing Friday Night Lights’ Tim Riggins), but this Super Bowl ad courtesy of Pantene in which NFL players do their daughters’ hair is here to change all that. The premise is simple: pick the players with the most adorable kids and challenge them to do their hair because macho sports dads are, like, totally bad at doing that and top it all off with a suitably adorable name: the “Dad-Do.”
And boy oh boy are these macho sports dads bad at doing their adorable daughters’ hair. Take, for example, DeAngelo Williams, who is challenged to give his daughter Rhiya a twisted pigtail look. She looks equal parts unimpressed and terrified. Luckily, through what we can only guess is the magic of television, he gets the hang of it, even earning a freaking adorable, “You’re doing a good job, daddy.” Awwwwwww.
What about Jason Witten, who clearly has no idea what a ballerina bun is.
A+ for cuteness, Pantene. Now if only your products didn’t suck so hard we’d be totally on board.
