It’s a known fact that the best thing we as a species have created is The Simpsons (when it was at its prime, that is). If you disagree, you are wrong. Sorry.
And one of the most remarkable things about that glorious, glorious show was its film references (I say “was” because The Simpsons that currently airs on television is not The Simpsons we know and love). Sometimes the references were overt, like the instantly classic Raiders of the Lost Ark spoof, and sometimes they were subtle, like the Godfather nod in the “Mr. Plow” episode (there was, of course, a more obvious Godfather moment in which Lisa finds a horse’s head in her bed. In Lisa’s case, however, the head was attached to the body of a horse and said horse was still alive).
So go ahead and relive the brilliance that was peak Simpsons and its unabashed love of cinema.
