Oh, here’s something nice to score the middle of the day: a brand new studio version of “Angels,” the lead song from the xx‘s next album. Scattershot videos of “Angels” have been floating around the Internet for a while, but it’s nice to hear a proper version. As you could imagine, it sounds like an xx song. (Music criticism!) But what else would you expect from a band that’s mastered the sound of longing? In addition, they also announced the official existence of Coexist, their sophomore album which will be available for purchase on September 11. Coexist‘s track list is filled with one-word names like “Chained,” “Fiction,” Tides,” followed by a pair of two-fers: “Swept Away” and “Our Song,” which is unfortunately probably not a cover of the Taylor Swift song. That would be next level amazing, though. Fingers crossed! They’ll also tour North America this fall, which should be worth busting out the all-black apparel for.
