Drink and a Movie: The Vinatta Project’s Scott Fitzgerald Mixes the ‘Otis Blue’

Meatpacking’s latest bar du jour is The Vinatta Project, housed in the former Gansevoorte 69, and has become a favorite haunt of celebs the likes of Lindsey Lohan, and upper-crusters from the Upper East Side. The Vinatta Project’s resident mixer Scott Fitzgerald hails from Australia and has created for us a beverage that speaks to his demographic, based on High Fidelity, a girly movie that all guys love.

The Otis Blue
-2oz Michters Unblended American Whiskey
-.5oz Honey Syrup
-.25oz Laphroaig
-4 drops Bitter End Memphis BBQ Bitters
-2 dash Barrel-Aged Bitter

“I based this drink on the Memphis soul music of the 1960s featured in the film, and the lead character’s love of Otis Redding. High Fidelity is a favorite of mine because of the great balance between character and music. I first watched it during a transition-point in my life, and the melancholy, made easier through soul music, struck a chord.”
