‘The Fox’ Geniuses Follow Up Smash Hit With Even Weirder ‘Massachusetts’

+

You would think that now that we know a little more about Ylvis, the Norwegian group behind the inexplicable worldwide smash “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)”, that we’d all be a little less taken aback by their followup. You would be precisely wrong. Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, two merry trickster from the presumably balls-weird tv show TVNorge, have somehow, against all odds, upped the ante with “Massachusetts.” (It couldn’t have come at a better time for me, as I’ve been feeling a little down about my home state lately.)

The whirlwind jaunt through world music, which, for some reason, is repurposed to the land of the hard to pronounce cities of Massachusetts, is like gazing into a Cthulu-born mouth of madness. Yes, you’re drooling and hugging yourself and wishing for death, but it’s a catchy madness.
