Who whoulda thunk that the force is easy, breezy, beautiful? Yes, CoverGirl is the latest brand to capitalize on the Star Wars hype, because people who purchase reasonably priced cosmetics are the very same folks counting the days to The Force Awakens.
The limited collection includes six lipsticks in disastrously unwearable metallic tones, nail polishes with names like “Red Revenge” and “Speed of Light” and mascara, which, as far as I can tell, is just regular mascara with Star Wars branding and quotes all over it.
The only thing not horrifically offensive about this half-baked collab are the ads, which feature six covetable future-looks by Pat McGrath, two of which were teased today on Allure – a very Star Wars-y mag if there ever was one. Half of the looks were inspired by the dark side and the other half were inspired by… oh you get the picture.
Products go best with Princess Leia buns… but then again what doesn’t?
