Sigur Ros has been steady rolling out the videos for their Valtari Mystery Film Experiment (including that wacky video with Shia LaBeouf where he shows us the whole LaBeouf), and the series of clips continues with this video for their song, “Varúð,” directed by Ryan McGinley. Now, McGinley has worked with Sigur Ros before on their clip for “Gobbledigook,” and some art work for a series of singles. In the “Gobbledigook” clip, the photographer hemmed pretty close to what he’s been known for; images of attractive naked young people. But lo and behold, there’s nary a buttock or boob in sight in this clip for “Varúð” (maybe he just didn’t want to follow all that LaBeouf). The clip instead focuses on a barefoot girl who is admirably unafraid of traffic and stepping in dog poop, running around New York barefoot with some really choice pom pom hair and an oversized t-shirt that’s determined to stay in place. Inevitably, a more arresting visual than the first clip for “Varúð” we posted to this site.
