It takes a moment for “Summer Comes And Summer Goes” to get going, as if the artist is pausing to gather her thoughts before breaking the silence. Once she does, TESHA the vocalist and producer behind the track, remains reserved, blending into the crackling, understated production, as if the emotions are too heavy.
That’s for good reason.
“It’s a song about everything that is beautiful and cruel about the world,” the Tel Aviv-born artist says of the track, premiered today. “I wrote it after discovering that both my parents got cancer at the same time. The news was so weirdly bad that I couldn’t help but feeling as if there was somebody watching me, laughing, and that there is a bigger plan for all of us. One of them survived, the other didn’t.”
