Tastemakers Meet in Istanbul

For the Fifth Edition of the Istanbul International Arts & Culture Festival, the interdisciplinary affair will explore from May 22—24 how technology affects reality with its official theme, “Realism in Arts & Culture.” A collision of Turkish art, design, fashion, film, music, literature and architecture, IST. Festival gives visitors the opportunity to attend panels and talks, screenings, workshops, exhibitions, artistic collaborations and performances.

IST. Festival Highlights

Eco-Age creative director and founder Livia Firth’s “The Journey” project to sustainable luxury in collaboration with Chopard at Pera Palace Jumeriah

– Photographer Alex Prager’s first exhibition in Istanbul, presented by ISTANBUL’74 and Lehmann Maupin at ISTANBUL’74 Galatasaray

– Screening of Daniel Arsham’s “Future Relic 03” starring Juliette Lewis, followed by a panel discussion with Arsham and Lewis, moderated by writer Sven Schumann at VAKKO Fashion Center

– Legendary actor Harvey Keitel in conversation with IST. Festival founder Alphan Eseli about Keitel’s career and the boundaries of realism in acting. Panel discussion at VAKKO Fashion Center

– Artist Travor Paglen discussion about hidden worlds and his work on Academy Award winning documentary “Citizen Four”

– Screening of “Les Bosquiets,” street artist JR’s latest movie with music by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell, and Wood Kid followed by a Q&A with JR
