After a nice, decades long nap underneath a rock, Vogue recently awoke to a world in which real butts exist. Last week, they published an article called “We’re Officially in the Era of the Big Booty.” It was basically an acknowledgment that celebrities like Kim Kardashian, J-Lo, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, etc have made big behinds fashionable. Reactions to the tone-deaf piece were predictably not. good.
Now, Refinery 29, who also took their turn bashing the article, has had the good fortune of publishing a suddenly timely but long-in-the-works slideshow exhibiting 30 bare butts presented without Photoshop. It includes quotes from their somewhat proud owners (their faces and names are still concealed), who are mostly comfortable with their behinds, despite them not being the size or shape constantly being shoved in our face. What a concept!
