Los Angeles artist VIGILETTI‘s been working on his solo music project for a number of years, now, having shared exclusively with BULLETT his menacing single, “nameless,” last October. Finally, the young producer has finished his debut EP, called xsc8pism, which will feature singer Kimmi Mikel and rapper Mikel Mitchell.
“Looking at [my EP] now, it seems to embody my somewhat emotional breakdown over the last year,” VIGILETTI said about the project. “All the lyrics, which are co-written with vocalists, are clearly directed at one individual [and about] the process of moving on and regaining sight of my own self-awareness.”
As far as what to expect sonically from xsc8pism, VIGILETTI said some tracks are more “commercially structured” with catchy hooks, while others are “downright dragged through the mud” dirty techno. Having spent three solid years working on his “most personal work to date,” this EP sees the producer experimenting with new sounds and reflecting on his identity as an artist, lover and friend.
Ahead of his breakout project, coming soon, VIGILETTI releases today a BULLETT-exclusive June 2016 mix, which we’re premiering, below:
