Stars have released a new song from their upcoming album, The North, out on September 4. The track, “Hold on When You Get Love and Let Go When You Give It” exists, that much we can say, because we’ve just listened to it five times in a row. Beyond that, well, I don’t know what you people want.

Fine, here’s our review:

It sounds like Ben Gibbard singing on an M83 track, then a girl comes in on the chorus, and it’s really hot out, and you’re like, Stars? They’re that one band from Canada, right? I wonder if it gets this hot in Canada? Like, I know it gets way colder in the winter, but what about the summers there? I bet it’s nice in Canada this time of year.

Says here on the information provided to us as journalism professionals that the band known as Stars are touring in September, which is what a band does when they put out a new album, you’ll no doubt recall. Traveling salesmen, bands are, plying their goods door to door, town to town. I wonder what kind of accommodations Stars have when they travel? They’re pretty famous, right? But how famous? Like two buses famous? Does the girl have her own bus? What is her name again?

Decent song, though. You should listen to it. There it is, right down there. Just go ahead and push the old song button and it will start playing. Then you’ll know what it sounds like. Post it to your Facebook wall maybe? People will want to know.
