Spiritual, reflective, emotional–prison writing can be many things to many people. Gone are the inspirational days when we would hear tales of some visionary or other, wrongfully imprisoned, spilling their guts in the form of a magnum opus written on a roll of toilet paper–or are they?
Lil’ Wayne is at long last doing more than vocalizing his pain in the pages of GQ–he’s publishing it. His Rikers Island journals are slated to be published in book form by Grand Central Publishing (a subset of Penguin, and the folks that brought you Shaq Uncut) on November 28th of this year. The rapper’s tome, in a St. Augustinian touch, will be titled Gone Till November.
