Shia LaBeouf Might Be in the New Lars von Trier Film

+

Reformed Disney star Shia LaBeouf obviously doesn’t have a problem showing his dick for the camera. But an artsy music video is small potatoes compared to this notch in the belt: a role in Lars von Trier’s The Nymphomaniac, a two-part film due to start shooting in September. If you weren’t aware, The Nymphomaniac is about the erotic adventures of a woman, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg, as she ages 0 to 50. According to the Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf is aiming to get cast in an as-yet undefined role. Honestly, everything about the movie sounds kind of insane: the fact that von Trier is shooting soft and hard versions, that it’s two movies to begin with, that Gainsbourg would sign up for this kind of artistic torture. But the addition of LaBeouf is a new element that makes us feel a little weird, if only because who wants to imagine that dude in some naked, hirsute form, flopping about on an actress we like? (Assuming he’d play some kind of lover, because what else would it be in a project like this?) This is the LaBeouf that was being held back by all of those years of Transformers, apparently.
