The more one considers the life of Shia LaBeouf, the clearer it seems that he’s not faking it. Yeah, of course a lot of his motivation for doing things like appearing in that Sigur Ros video and making shorts for Marilyn Manson has to be a desire to distance himself from the premium cheese of the Transformers franchise, but then you consider items like this one, about the actor harrassing his co-star Mia Wasikowska on the set of Lawless, and yeah, you get the impression that dude is a genuine weirdo. Lars Von Trier however, is on an entirely different level of strange; in an interview with MTV LaBeouf said that he’s “terrified” to start work on Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, at least in part of because of the type of performance LaBeouf will be required to give. “There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says ‘We’re doing it for real, and everything that is illegal we’ll shoot in blurred images, but other than that everything is happening,” LaBeouf said. So yeah, no actor is really at Von Trier’s level of weird. Except Willem Dafoe. Yeah, he’s right there with him.
