TOPMAN’s next collaboration officially hits stores on June 12, and it’s with Danish street wear designer Astrid Andersen. The 17-piece collection was largely inspired by Punjab basket teams, after Andersen stumbled across a website that had vintage photos. Says the designer: “There were images from the early fifties right up to today so the inspiration became the crossover references on how this was originally a national sport but as time progressed it became highly Americanised. The colour code and metal reflect the traditional Indian use of colours but in a tight palette.” Sticking close to his street wear roots, Anderson chose New York rapper A$AP Ferg to model the line that includes a crushed pink velour sweat suit, black jersey shirts with sheer panelling, and neoprene sweatshirts accentuated with copper foil and metalwork. The pieces start at $90.00 and will be available online and at TOPMAN in NYC and LA.
