Saint Ballantine Go ‘Gangsta Indie Rock’ On Their Engaging ‘The Stoned’

“It’s about not finding peace until you perish,” Brian ‘Sene’ Marc explains of “The Stoned” the track from the Brooklyn-based Saint Ballantine. “Everyone is ready to cast a stone. We are far from perfect and so we are the stoned.”

It’s a heady concept, but there’s a decided thoughtfulness to the track, whose piano stabs and hypnotic, harmonized vocals make it feel like a would-be big-house banger, but slowed down considerably for a more reflective tone.

The duo, also including Andrew Thomas Reid, who jokingly call their music”Gangsta Indie Rock”, are the latest product of the Clubhouse, a Brooklyn Victorian-style mansion that has played host to dozens of musicians and artists over the past few years. Find more from them here.
